"The Gymnast" Rose George Plaster Strips, Tempera Paint, Acrylic Paint, Tinfoil, Wire, Tape, Yarn, Hot Glue 02/2016
This sculpture was one of my pieces from Art Spectrum, and was my first encounter with plaster. To construct the skeleton I used wire, and wrapped in in tinfoil and tape. Then I covered it in layers of plaster strips. Finally, I painted it and glued yarn on for the hair. Instead of doing a figure standing or running, I took the liberty to have my figure doing something active and unique, so I had it stand on its hands instead of its feet.
