This piece is inspired by the anime "Sword Art Online," where people get trapped in a virtual reality. If they die in the video game, the also die in real life. The helmet is like the game controller, and it is supposed to control your nerves so you have all five senses within the virtual world. Acrylic paint represents the real world, and watercolor is the virtual world. The pixels in acrylic convey the connection between the two worlds, and the blood in acrylic symbolizes not only the fact that if you die in the game your real body dies, but also that running into a virtual world can't help you escape the problems you experience in the real world.
